Who We Are

A locally owned company built from the mountain up

Kili Treks Tanzania is based in Moshi — the town at the foot of Kilimanjaro. We specialize in Kilimanjaro climbs, Mount Meru treks, and customized safaris across Tanzania, led by local guides who have spent their careers on these routes and who genuinely love sharing them.

Founded in 2012, we were built on a simple belief: exceptional adventures begin with exceptional people. Every expedition is supported by crews who are passionate about Tanzania's mountains, culture, and the people brave enough to climb them.

Our Founder

The mountain changed his life. He has spent the years since helping others find out what it might do for theirs.

Kili Treks Tanzania was founded by Wilfred Moshi. Wilfred began as a Kilimanjaro porter in 1999 — the same mountain he would one day help thousands of others climb. He became a certified guide, then an expedition leader, and in 2012 became the first Tanzanian and the first East African to summit Mount Everest.

His experience extends to expeditions in Greenland and challenging environments across the world, but Kilimanjaro has always been home. Today, Wilfred personally trains our guides, shapes our safety standards, and remains involved in how every expedition is planned and delivered.
