Trekking Time: 5–7 hours
Habitat: Rainforest

Trekking Time: 4–5 hours
Habitat: Moorland
Accommodation: Shira Cave Camp
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks & Dinner

Day 3

Shira Cave Camp → Lava Tower → Barranco Camp (Acclimatization Day)

A classic acclimatization day following the “climb high, sleep low” principle. The route ascends gradually across alpine desert terrain to Lava Tower before descending into the Great Barranco Valley, improving altitude adaptation and reducing AMS risk.

Altitude: 3,890 m → 4,600 m → 3,930 m
Trekking Time: 6–7 hours
Habitat: Alpine desert
Accommodation: Barranco Camp
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks & Dinner

Day 4

Trekking Time: 6–7 hours
Habitat: Alpine desert
Accommodation: Barafu Camp
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 5

Barafu Camp → Uhuru Peak → Mweka Camp (Summit Day)

Summit push begins shortly after midnight. The ascent to Stella Point is steep and physically demanding, followed by a gradual approach along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After celebrating at the summit, descend to Barafu Camp for a short rest before continuing to Mweka Camp.
