Quieter than its famous neighbour, Meru provides a more intimate mountain adventure and serves as an excellent acclimatization climb before Kilimanjaro. This itinerary ascends via the Northern Route through Miriakamba Hut and descends via the Southern Route via Tululusia Waterfall.

Day 0

Arrival Day

Arrive in Tanzania where our representative will meet you and transfer you to your lodge. Relax and prepare for the adventure ahead.

Day 1

Momella Gate → Miriakamba Hut (Northern Route)

Meet your mountain crew and armed ranger before beginning the trek through grassland and montane forest with frequent wildlife sightings.

Altitude: 1,500 m → 2,515 m
Trekking Time: 4–5 hours
Habitat: Grassland / Montane Forest
Accommodation: Miriakamba Hut
Meals: Lunch, Snacks & Dinner

Day 2

Miriakamba Hut → Saddle Hut (Optional Little Meru)

Ascend through forest and giant heather via Elephant Ridge. Optional acclimatization hike to Little Meru (3,825m).

Altitude: 2,515 m → 3,567 m
Trekking Time: 3–4 hours + optional hike
Habitat: Moorland / Heather Zone
Accommodation: Saddle Hut

Day 3

Saddle Hut → Socialist Peak → Miriakamba Hut

Early morning summit push to Socialist Peak (4,566m). Enjoy sunrise over Kilimanjaro before descending for brunch at the Saddle hut and continuing to Miriakamba.

Altitude: 3,567 m → 4,566 m → 2,515 m
Trekking Time: 10–12 hours total

Day 4

Miriakamba Hut → Tululusia Waterfall → Gate → Arusha
